Aisley, a three-year-old girl, was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumor after a Seattle Children’s Hospital doctor trusted her instincts and ordered an MRI despite a normal neurological exam. The scan revealed an aggressive embryonal brain tumor that required urgent surgery, followed by months of chemotherapy and proton radiation therapy. Thanks to advanced surgical techniques, genetic tumor testing, and access to proton therapy, Aisley successfully completed treatment and has shown no evidence of cancer since April 2021. Supported by a multidisciplinary brain tumor team and her own resilient spirit, Aisley has returned to school, dance, and everyday childhood activities, illustrating how early detection and specialized pediatric care can save lives.
